Marriage-A Big Outsourced Project
In today's IT world, many of the companies follow the outsourcing concept as their business model(to some extent it helps the start-ups to survive).
I can not explain this(outsourcing) concept here as I have signed NDA (non discloser agreement), and I don't want to fall in any loop-holes of that agreement. I work with a company which works on this outsourcing business model concept.
I have seen how big(like a complete application development) as well as small(like removal of letter from disclaimer from some properties file for the hard-coded value) projects are outsourced.
After some math(read calculations) I found that Marriage is one of the Biggest project that follows the outsourcing concept truly. This is the best and most robust business model example for any kind of Outsourcing project(s).
Lets start from scratch(The prerequisite: you must have a boy/girl who is ready for marriage):
Pre-marriage Outsourcing:
The "Search" Outsourced: In old days the elders, or specialists(Pandit ji) who had an amazingly huge social network, they use to find a proper match. Now a days, since life is very fast (and elders don't have that kind of network also)..we have outsourced that to marriage sites like shaadi.com, simplymarry.com (no..this is not the end.. even secondshaadi.com is also available)
After finding a "suitable/proper" match(cant use "perfect"..sorry)
The Events Outsourced: Doesn't matter you belong to which caste or which part of India, the marriage function(s) are expensive and you try to outsource each and every event to the bidder/vendor who charge you "properly". Halwayi(caterer), Phool wala, Band Baje wala, Generator wala, Ghodi wala, Marriage hall wala, Gadi wala(Bus/car/407), are few most likely bidders for various functions(type/quality of bidders may vary on location and status of family). Your job is just to understand the JNDs(Job Needs to be Done, like RFPs) and give the work to the suitable bidder. But, you have to keep an eye on the Vendors, if the project is moving properly towards completion of the project. For few of the Vendors the "communication window" is allowed. A vendor who is not in "expert category" should generally be avoided.
Post marriage Outsourcing:
Responsibility Outsourced:
In this model you have to choose your Vendors properly so that the project "Life" can be accomplished successfully.
Yours truly,
Rishabh

Post marriage Outsourcing:
Responsibility Outsourced:
- Bride's father outsource his responsibilities towards Bride to the Groom(and to his family to some extent).
- Bride's mother-in-law outsource her responsibility(to some extent) to the Bride by giving her KK (Kitchen and Keys). These include getting work done from and payment of other vendors like Dudhwala, Paper wala, Sabji wala(vegetable seller), Dhobi (Washer man), Servants and others.
- Bride and Groom outsource their responsibilities mutually at times.
In this model you have to choose your Vendors properly so that the project "Life" can be accomplished successfully.
Yours truly,
Rishabh
